Zajel / An-Najah National University
Born in Deir-Estia near Salfeet, Fawaz Akel studied at Huwara High School. In 1973, he received a diploma from Amman Teachers' Institution, before receiving a scholarship from the Jordanian Ministry of Education to study applied linguistics and teach French.
In 1977, he joined the State of New York University and received a Masters in language teaching, and then a doctorate in curriculum and methodology.
He worked as the Head of Methodology Department at An-Najah National University, before becoming Dean of An-Najah Community College, and became an assistant professor in 1994.
He is member of several committees of the university, as well as the number of charitable associations. He has participated in numerous local and international conferences and published considerable amounts of educational research in Palestinian and Arabic magazines.
